Schedule 1 is under legal fire for plagiarizing another game

Schedule 1 has been booming in popularity, a lot of the PC player base has been addicted to playing this game, which is quite funny given the topics it brings. Currently, Schedule 1 is under fire for allegedly infringing upon copyright law. Movie Games is a studio behind Drug Dealer Simulator, and they claim that Schedule 1 not only profited a ton but also did so by stealing their ideas and assets. In my honest opinion, both games are pretty bad and only carry themselves because Youtubers play them. We at Infinite Start will tackle this topic with what we think.

Schedule 1 – Drug Dealing Sim 0

Games are meant to be creative and expressive in nature, however, these years we have seen a deluge of terrible copycats left and right. From Palworld, to the plethora of Battle Royale titles, there has been an infestation of low effort clones. Games have advanced a lot, back in the day, there was just a bunch of things you can do to make a fighting game, so it was obvious there would be copycats, and yet you still saw a bunch of variety.

Engines have been a blight when it comes to developing games, since assets are often just flipped from game to game, code becomes more dumbed down, and ideas become homogenized. While these systems give us the potential to ship games quickly, you still need to put effort into the art of this game, neither of these titles did at a simple glance.

Movie Games is looking to drop a millionaire case upon Schedule 1 due to the alleged infringement of patents. Regardless of the outcome, it does not really matter since both games are forgettable, but if a big companies goes too far, restrictions can be placed in the indie game sphere that can kill game making.
