Official Price for the Switch 2 Revealed

Nintendo has revealed a ton of official details on the upcoming Switch 2 console in yesterday’s Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, from Hardware details to pricing and list of launch titles to pre-order info, along with an official release date.

To start off, the Switch 2 will launch on June 5, 2025 and pre-orders will start at retailers in North America from April 9, 2025. As for the official price, Nintendo has confirmed the Switch 2 will be available for $449.99.

“Nintendo Switch 2 is the next step in at-home gaming that can be taken on the go based on eight years of play and discovery that began with Nintendo Switch,” stated Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa.

“With its new features that expand the possibilities of gaming experiences, I truly believe that Nintendo Switch 2 is a leap forward in our journey of putting smiles on the faces of everyone that Nintendo touches.”

The Switch 2 features a 7.9-inch LCD screen that can display all games at 1080p resolution, however, the Switch 2 Dock will also be able to output video up to 4K resolution and run games at up to 120fps which is great news for anyone looking to get the best possible gaming experience on a handheld.

Switch 2 will also come with the following list of accessories:

  • Nintendo Switch 2 console
  • Joy-Con 2 controllers (L+R)
  • Joy-Con 2 Grip
  • Joy-Con 2 Straps
  • Nintendo Switch 2 Dock
  • Ultra High-Speed HDMI Cable
  • Nintendo Switch 2 AC Adapter
  • USB-C Charging Cable

A Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle will also be released for the official price tag of $499.99 in the United States, and will include a download code for Mario Kart World available on the console’s launch date on June 5. What makes this bundle particularly attractive for fans of the Mario Kart series is that the game by itself costs $79.99, which means if you buy the bundle, you can get it $30 cheaper.
