Monster Hunter Wilds to Address Challenge Quest Cheaters

Fans of the Monster Hunter series know that part of the fun in the hunt is the proving oneself that’s needed. The latest Monster Hunter Wilds, newly released and put on the shelves, has carried the trend on with its Challenge Quests, setting hunters up in timed matches against great creatures. But one particular legendary bane has come back, taking away from the integrity of such games: cheats.

Capcom developers have already addressed the concern regarding players using loopholes to get inauthentic fast completion times for the current “Doshaguma of the Hollow” Challenge Quest. The unwanted trend led to developers taking drastic measures to make sure that a good playing ground was maintained.

A Steam community update published not long ago mentioned that Capcom is pursuing the player information and will take “measures as appropriate” against the identified players who have been found to be undertaking unauthorized actions. Although the nature of the measures has not been revealed, it is very likely that these concerned accounts will have some restrictions and possible bans from playing the game at least.

This will certainly be welcomed with open arms by the hardcore fan base of Monster Hunter, who spent long hours and hard work mastering their skills to overcome these challenging missions. Having around cheaters not only devalues the competitive scene but also dilutes the feeling of accomplishment for those who climb up high rankings on their own merits.

As a result of this probe, the distribution of rewards of the “Doshaguma of the Hollow” Challenge Quest will be postponed. Capcom is expecting a one- to two-week review period to properly detect and rectify the cases of cheating prior to finalizing the results and awarding the rightful participants their respective rewards. The revised rankings will then be published on the game’s official social media accounts.

This pre-emptive strike by Capcom demonstrates their resolve to make sure that the experience is still fair and enjoyable for all Monster Hunter Wilds players. While the war against cheaters is ever-present in the world of online gaming, this stern message sends a clear message that such activities will not be tolerated in the hunting grounds. The efficient hunters can be assured that their efforts will pay off, and the spirit of fair play will be upheld in nature.
