Meta is firing their Oculus Studio employees in 2025

Meta is an absolutely terrible company, although, this was obvious thanks to basically being in the hands of the same dude who made Facebook. Social media in itself is a disaster too, and we have to thank Zuckerberg for making it a more widespread thing, causing a wide array of problems. Unfortunately, in order to save face in legal battles, he isn’t willing to take money cuts himself, but he will cut everyone else from the job. That’s right, Meta is axing their Oculus Studio division, the one that was meant to produce games, but only made slop. Nobody really cares about VR, its just another failed “innovation” that does not bring anything to the table.

Meta is digging its grave

A recent report indicates that more than 10.000 jobs have been axed. It is clear that Zuckerberg just needs that juicy money to save win during his legal odyssey. The only thing they only ever achieved, is copying Second Life, a game that literally existed more than 20 years ago. When copycats are lauded as innovation, or when disruptive technologies are celebrated as progress, you know things are going very wrong with society.

There are still indie games to prevent a total collapse of the industry however, this isn’t the Atari days anymore. When corporations fall, and when tourists move on and deem gaming as a fad, we nerds will be able to reclaim our rightful place on the throne. We can slowly see that becoming a thing, the internet dying thanks to social media, people showing an astounding lack of interest.

Perhaps it is time to start touching grass for a bit, seeing the outside for once, and not enslaving yourself to a headset that only provides slop. We are in times of change, and from person to person I implore you my dear reader, make a positive change.
