Marvel Rivals, the fast-paced shooter game from NetEase, is preparing for its mid-season 2 updates, with a tide of fixes and changes to polish the gameplay experience. Already deep into its second season, which brought a treasure trove of content based on the Hellfire Gala, the comic book mutant party, Marvel Rivals will bring another batch of balancing for heroes and Team-Ups.
The mid-season balance patch would target buffing the offense of Strategists to make them playable in most team compositions. There are also minor tweaks planned for heroes such as Captain America and Groot, whose lower survivability would be addressed. Spider-Man’s Amazing Combo will have its damage range cut, but Doctor Strange would have his ultimate cost less energy.
Team-Up skills will receive changes as well, with a confirmed minor buff to Winter Soldier’s Tainted Voltage and Team-Up skill. Although some information is not yet revealed, NetEase assures players that these changes are implemented to enhance the experience of certain heroes without drastically shifting the set meta. The developers want to observe the effect of these changes before they think about major balance changes in the future.
Aside from hero balancing, the mid-season patch will also see changes in performance rating calculations. NetEase is aware that some Duelists have a head start when it comes to current performance ratings, and Vanguards and Strategists could fall behind. The new calculations will level things out so players will be more likely to perform well regardless of role.
With these mid-season updates, Marvel Rivals continues to drive its efforts towards maximizing and enhancing the gameplay experience in order to offer a rich and engaging atmosphere for its dedicated players.
In addition to gameplay and balancing changes, the mid-season update of Marvel Rivals will also likely feature new cosmetic material, allowing players to new ways to customize their top heroes. As of yet, there is no announced information on the details, but players can most certainly expect an abundance of new skins, emotes, and perhaps even weapon attachments to further customize the looks of their favorite characters. This cosmetic item injection has the effect of generally maintaining the look of the game interesting and offers further motivation for players to keep playing and collecting.
