Marathon came back to PC in 2025 with an exciting trailer

Marathon is what inspired Halo in the past, and it seems to be making an unexpected come back. PC players will be able to enjoy this classic extraction shooter in a new coat of paint. There is some skepticism however, especially when it comes to the quality of the game. Many have said that it was dead on arrival, that the people behind it will fumble the bag. Considering how the industry is doing, this is possible and in fact, it makes total sense. Corporations are unable to make risky choices and create new things due to greed, so they revive long dead IPs just to kill them. Marathon is no exception to this rule unfortunately.

Marathon, may your revival be good

In the age of rehashing and re-breaking things and properties, it was kinda expected that Marathon would be revived. However, the magic of the original is not there, and not many people care about such a niche series either. There might be some vocal fans behind it, but there’s also more Halo fans too that overshadow them. No matter what decisions are made, or what these fans want, its clear that this new revival of Marathon will appeal to the masses who never played the original.

This is turn causes the identity and core DNA of the franchise to disappear, creating a product that only looks like Marathon, but in reality, isn’t Marathon at all. It is sad to see franchises die such terrible deaths, but so is the modern gaming industry, at least when it comes to triple A titles. There is still no proper details of the game, but a game play reveal will be done in some days now on April 12th.

If you are interested in this reveal and the new Marathon game, just do as the video title says and save the date. You might be disappointed, or perhaps you will be very happy, who knows.
