Intravenous 2 is yet another story of indie gaming success

Intravenous 2 was a massive success for the people at Explosive Squat Games. PC gamers loved the first game when they got to keep it for free as a part of a sequel publicity stunt. Now, the sequel managed to become even more successful than the previous title, with an interesting narrative filled with twists, and lots of difficult challenges to face. Stealth is an amazing genre for atmosphere driven games, and a lot of elements that the series have hit the nail most of the time. We at Infinite Start will discuss yet another history of an indie game being successful.

Intravenous 2 is a huge win

With more than 2000 positive reviews, Intravenous 2 places itself as a GOTY contender when it comes to the indie space. A tale about revenge for a loved one took an even darker twist when military operations are thrown into the mix. This is quite reminiscent to what happened with Hotline Miami, another game that made use of plenty of surprising narrative twists. Both are also a duology, and deal with topics about drugs, however, Hotline Miami has a deeper plot going on with the sequel.

Intravenous is more about revenge in itself. While the main character might consider his actions correct while avenging his brother, he was only doing what they did to him. Intravenous 2 is about another set of characters, but holds similar views to those presented in the first game. That is, revenge for a loved one is back, but Sean has some tricks down his sleeve to deal with drug traffickers.

The Stealth elements of Intravenous 2 are on point yet again, giving more sense to the reason why this sequel was so well received in the first place. If you are interested in getting into the game, people recommend to start with the first entry.
