Gaming handhelds prices will suffer by the 2025 tariff war

Gaming handhelds are one of the most convenient gadgets to engage with this beautiful medium. However, the affordability for them has declined, tariffs have come for everything. Everything is gonna be even more expensive, and since semiconductors are primarily made in China, the entire hardware industry will struggle. Tariffs not only affect foreign countries negatively, but the one that gets hurts the most will be the one who makes them, without having a local industry behind. That’s right, the USA has systematically off shored everything for decades now, and reality is hitting them. We at Infinite Start will cover what are the best alternatives to survive this.

Gaming handhelds aren’t needed

Grab your current PC, or even grab your old handheld consoles like a PS Vita or PSP. Those are powerful enough to load any retro game inside them. Considering how sloppy the industry currently is, it is better to start playing the classics that defined the medium instead. In case you have somehow enjoyed the thousands of games the past has to offer, fan games are also brimming with quality.

It is unrealistic to finish every game in the world, especially everything that has released in the past and everyone can access for free. Unless you don’t care about portability, gaming handhelds aren’t needed, and you might probably have one already. Games are art, and the important part of the experience is trying to enjoy and understand them, rather than mindlessly consume them like current games.

The reason most modern games feel soulless is because there’s really no intent behind them, other than make money and stick to trends. Thankfully, many old games avoid this sort of pitfall, since they come from a time when the people who made games, were gamers and artists, not corporate soul suckers. It is easy to remain calm, and play some classics. Gaming handhelds are not needed.
