FBC: Firebreak Release Date Confirmed

Remedy Entertainment’s new game, FBC: Firebreak, has at last been officially confirmed to release on the 17th of June, a fresh start for the studio behind Alan Wake and the first two Max Payne games. The title will be supported on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S consoles.

FBC: Firebreak is Remedy’s entry into the multiplayer co-op shooter genre. Though the environment, foes, and some of the characters will be comfortable for Control players, it’s also an open door for new faces to the Remedyverse, introducing them to the paranatural doors of the Oldest House. The game takes place after the Control events, where players assume the roles of members of the Federal Bureau of Control’s Firebreak response team, whose duty is to tidy up the mess of an extradimensional assault.

While players will not be playing Jesse Faden, the protagonist of Control, they will be able to utilize a fantastic array of explosive Altered Items as weapons in this first-person multiplayer shooter. In a recent dev update, fans were given a general glimpse of gameplay, highlighting new weapons, enemies, and mechanics. Players are able to personalize their loadouts with secondary weapons and paranatural objects from giant wrenches to explosive garden gnomes.

Missions will have up to three players in Firebreak crews return to familiar territory in the Oldest House but also visit new territory. As a standalone game with its own narrative, FBC: Firebreak will fill the gap between Control and its upcoming sequel.

Besides, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PlayStation Plus members will have day-one access to the game. The game is available for $39.99 USD in the standard version and $49.99 for Deluxe Edition. PC players can buy the game on Steam or the Epic Games store. As expected, fans are eager and excited to approach the title’s release, but before venting out their pent up emotions, they’ll have to wait a few more days.
