World of Goo 2 is a new physics puzzle game coming soon to PC. Physics puzzle games are rather uncommon to see due to how complex they are to develop. Especially when it comes to the aesthetics World of Goo has, these are quite neat to appreciate and the artist behind has done a great job with them. The original World of Goo came out in 2008, so this is quite the unexpected return to form for the series. It is clear that polish went to many aspects, yet, there’s plenty of respect for the original game mechanically. We at Infinite Start will cover this surprise sequel.
It is amazing when a very old game receives a sequel, its been around 17 years since the first one, which is a beastly amount of time. However, time goes faster and faster each day, so it is important to reminisce the older days and honor them properly. Slay the Spire is another game getting a sequel, and it seems that plenty of indie titles are currently in their sequel phase, provided it makes sense to do one.
Sequels in mechanics are always welcome, provided they can make a new story that makes sense with the previous one. Of course, not all games are story driven, and it seems that the story in World of Goo 2 is quite simple. There’s a new mysterious company that rebranded itself as a non profit organization, yet, they require you to amass plenty of goo. It is not known why you have to do this, but players will discover the true motives behind this request.
To do so, players will have to navigate and clear challenging puzzles until the truth is eventually revealed to them. If you are interested in this new surprise sequel, you can wishlist this title and replay the first one.
