PS5 Pro Version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows will get Extended Ray Tracing Support along with 40 FPS Mode

The upcoming Assassin’s Creed Shadows is going to look significantly better on the Playstation 5 Pro than it will on all other consoles out there, which shouldn’t be a surprise considering the higher capabilities of the PS5 Pro’s hardware. According to the Official Playstation Blog, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will offer extensive Ray Tracing features such as Ray Traced Global Illuminations for incredibly realistic and lifelike diffuse lighting and reflective surfaces in the Fidelity mode on the PS5 Pro which aims for strictly 30 FPS gameplay. The PS5 Pro version of the game will also include a Balanced mode targeting 40 FPS, maintaining a fine line between pure visual fidelity and playable performance.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is easily going to be one of the most graphically rich videogames when it comes out this month and the PS5 Pro definitely provides the best way for experiencing the Open World title, especially on the Sony platform. But even if you don’t have the PS5 Pro, the game will still look pretty great on the base PS5, just without some of the more realistic lighting and other RT implementations.

The 40 FPS mode in the PS5 Pro was also present for other graphically intensive games such as Avatars: Frontiers of Pandora which enabled the console to deliver significantly higher level of visual detail compared to other consoles while still delivering a playable performance in all situations. Generally the consoles are quite a bit underpowered compared to the PC version of a game which is where you can really max out all the graphical settings to it’s fullest, but the 40 FPS mode in the PS5 Pro is currently the best visual quality level one can get among all the consoles.

So if you manage to buy a PS5 Pro or already have one, you can be assured that Assassin’s Creed Shadows is going to look spectacular in every sense.

In other news of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Ubisoft has released a whole new 20 minute gameplay footage showcasing it’s two protagonists infiltrating a stronghold area in the game, demonstrating both stealth and all-out action. It’s a must watch for all fans of the series, check it out here.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set to arrive on March 20 for Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S and the PC platform. You can pre-order the game’s Standard and Digital Deluxe Editions right now on Steam.
