Release Date Revealed for Death Stranding 2 with Epic New Trailer

Hideo Kojima has unveiled a 10 minute-long trailer for the upcoming Death Stranding 2 which confirms the game’s official release date along with three different editions besides offering tons of new details including the game’s premise, main story, new and returning characters and it’s breathtaking visuals. First showcased at PlayStation’s special panel at SXSW this Sunday, the epic new trailer for Death Stranding 2 highlights the cinematic tone of the game as well as it’s unique stylistic and narrative beats which were also signature themes of the first Death Stranding.

The trailer is accompanied by a moody yet soulful ‘To the Wilder’ by Woodkid, a new song that serves neatly at creating the sonic backdrop of the whole presentation, driving home the overall cinematic feel that Death Stranding 2 is obviously going for. And the aesthetically rich and photorealistic visuals courtesy of the Decima engine compliment the overarching themes of the game even more, which is definitely one of the most ambitious in the entire modern era of gaming. From it’s realistic and lifelike facial expressions to stunningly detailed and gorgeous vistas, Death Stranding 2 seems destined to be a visual masterpiece.

Also, with it’s improved RT capabilities and overall higher rendering performance, the PS5 Pro version of the game will shine even more and will easily deliver the best experience on the Sony platform.

The Collector’s Edition of Death Stranding 2 is priced at $230 USD, and includes the full digital game with a 48 hour early access. The overall package comes with a collector’s box, a 15-inch Magellan Man statue, a 3-inch Dollman figurine, art cards, a letter from Hideo Kojima along with various in-game items. The Digital Deluxe Edition of the game also includes early access plus several bonus in-game items for $80 USD.

And the Standard Digital Edition will retail for $70 USD, meanwhile pre-ordering the game will grant several bonuses such as a Quokka Hologram and silver versions of the Battle Skeleton, Boost Skeleton and Bokka Skeleton. Death Stranding 2 will be open for pre-ordering on March 17, 10 a.m. local time while the game will release exclusively on the Playstation 5 on June 26, 2025.
