Orcdom is a Plants Vs Zombies replacement for PC players

Orcdom is gonna be a blast on PC, the developers behind it are a Chinese studio that are very passionate about Plants Vs Zombies. This new title is a new take on the strategy genre, more specifically on what some people dub PvZ like. This is basically Plants Vs Zombies, but the perspective has been changed to a radial one. Yes, one has to defend from the invading orcs that come from all possible directions of the clock. To do this, you have to spend resources to build up your defenses. We at Infinite Start will cover this new indie title in more detail after the break.

Orcdom is no kingdom

The game has 5 unique levels, each with distinct environmental effects. In the snowy level, players must build campfires to prevent structures from freezing and slowing down. In the desert level, defense towers heat up, boosting attack speed but also increasing damage taken, creating a balance of risk and reward. Risk and reward is one of the most important aspects in strategy games, and it is often hard to balance. It seems that Orcdom is doing quite the job to ensure balance is optimal.

The game offers various defense towers, each countering different enemies. For example, the Freeze Tower freezes foes, the Crossbow Tower targets ranged enemies, and the Capture Tower damages aerial enemies. Towers can be enhanced with runes for added power. Instead of Suns like in Plants Vs Zombies, players will have to expend runes that are passively generated. With them, it is possible to build and enhance your protections, ensuring you can survive the hordes of invading orcs.

You can say that this game is pretty much a tower defense perspective wise, but it still carries that unique aura. If you are interested in trying this successor out, a new closed beta test is coming soon.
