Monster Hunter Wilds has Sold over 10 Million Copies in it’s First Month of Release, setting a new Record for Capcom

Monster Hunter Wilds is turning out to be one of the biggest commercial hits of the year as the game is now confirmed to sell over 10 million units in it’s first month of release, setting a new sales record for developer and publisher Capcom. After selling over 8 million copies in just three days, Monster Hunter Wilds had already became the fastest selling game for Capcom and is currently showing no signs of stopping.

In a subsequent press note, Capcom has stated why Monster Hunter Wilds got so successful in such a short amount of time and the company has pointed to the game’s crossplay feature and simultaneous launch on both the consoles and the PC platforms as one of the key reasons for it’s overwhelming success.

“The title provides an environment where a wider range of players can enjoy the game together with the introduction of crossplay, a first for the series, and a simultaneous release on Playstation 5 system, Xbox Series X|S, and PC,” Capcom stated.

“Additionally, the introduction of the new Focus Mode mechanic and the implementation of seamless movement between settlements and ecosystems have provided an even more immersive gaming experience, while the fusion of numerous new elements with Monster Hunter’s appeal has generated significant excitement, all of which led to the company first-month sales record of over 10 million units sold.”

The predecessor to Monster Hunter Wilds, 2018’s Monster Hunter World still remains the best-selling title for Capcom ever with a total of 21.3 million sold units worldwide, but it sure looks like it will be surpassed by Wilds, which has already proven itself as a far more successful release in more ways than one.

Also, Monster Hunter Wilds is set to receive it’s Title Update 1 on April 4, adding a slew of new contents into the game including a new fan-favorite monster along with the Grand Hub, which is a new in-game settlement for players to gather and communicate. Title Update 2, will release sometimes in Summer which will bring even more enjoyable post-game contents for Monster Hunter Wilds.
