Knight Lobster is an upcoming first person dungeon crawler coming to PC. This very cryptic game has no release date as of now, but it does have a playable demo that you can check out if you are interested. If the psychedelic visuals do not hold your attention for long enough, then the battle system might be able to draw you in. As the title implies, you are playing as a lobster who happens to be a knight. It does get weirder however, as this art project might be more deep than expected and touch upon serious topics. We at Infinite Start will cover this new art project.
According to the warning on Steam’s page, the topics of war and violence will be treated in this game, thanks to its shocking narrative. Gore can also be present in various elements of the game such as enemy design, cutscenes and more. Taking what the game will tackle, it does make sense for the content of it to be not apt for you average audience of gamers. Games being art offer a portal of expression to the ideas and beliefs of the author behind each software.
There is some big potential going on with Knight Lobster, and it might even have the opportunity to become a cult game. Games with similar approach to treating the medium as an artwork exist, Disillusion is another example of an experimental art project, however, it does not deal with the same topics presented as Knight Lobster. Unleashing creativity in full display might be optional to many who develop games, but if you wish to create experiences that linger in the mind of players, its a must.
Be it the writing, art, or any other human-made craft, at least one is needed to elevate the experience in this stagnant medium filled with greedy corporations. Indie artists are here to stay and revolutionize the medium.
