The great Zelda inspired Isle of Reveries has a demo on PC

Isle of Reveries is clearly a love letter to those old Zelda titles on Nintendo‘s popular handheld system, the GameBoy. Indie games are often influenced in a big way by those titles of our childhood. More often than not, indies tend to be built around similar hardware constraints than those games, of course, aesthetically. It is clear that these hardware limitations actually do not apply for real, since they are made on modern engines for the most part. However, aesthetics are always faithful to the source they were inspired on, and you have to put lots of dedication to acquire that result. We at Infinite Start will cover this new title.

Zelda inspired goodness

Isle of Reveries is a new indie project that will drop for PC players, however, there’s still no proper date for when that will happen. Plays are able to enjoy a demo of the game in the meanwhile, and the amount of content provided is enough to know if it is worth it. The game is being funded by a Kickstarter campaign that released recently. The fact that the developer put forward a demo for players to experience what’s done in the game so far is a good way to boost trust on the project. It is true that projects like this can be cancelled, but Kickstarter scams related to video games seemed to have decreased lately.

You play as an owl named Lief as they make a pilgrimage skybound to the desecrated Isle of Reveries, where it’s said that any wish can be granted. By fighting through eight mysterious dungeons, each with their own unique themes and puzzles, and meeting charming anthropomorphic characters along the way this GameBoy Color inspired action adventure puzzle game expands forward in a variety of ways. You can even have a fairy companion that duplicates and spawns items, and those will be crucial to the puzzle solving aspect.

If you are interested in this new title, you might want to try out the demo. If you liked what you see, you can wishlist the title, or even go as far as to support the Kickstarter.
