GTA 5 Enhanced Update plus new DLC for GTA Online are now Live

Ray Tracing is steadily becoming an industry standard in terms of videogame visuals and more developers are incorporating the stunningly realistic lighting and reflections enabled by RT to breathe new life into decade old videogames, and the latest game to get an RT overhaul is Rockstar Games’ Open World juggernaut GTA 5 which first came out back in 2013. The RT upgrade for GTA 5 comes in the form of a free new update titled “Enhanced” which is live right now, so if your PC can handle it, you should definitely get the visual upgrade which is guaranteed to liven up your GTA 5 experience drastically.

The Enhanced update is currently available to download via Steam, Epic Games, and the Rockstar Games Launcher.

Also, besides the obvious RT implementation, the Enhanced update also enables GTA 5 to utilize various upscaling technologies such as NVIDIA’s DLSS 3 and AMD’s FSR 1 and FSR 3, which can be used in older generation of GPU’s from both manufacturers and sees a significant boost in FPS, which is great for all gamers out there.

And for players whose PC’s currently don’t meet the requirements of the Enhanced update, they can just continue to play the Legacy version of GTA 5 accessible from the Rockstar Games Launcher application. However, players on the older version won’t be able to play online with those who have upgraded which is sort of like a caveat.

Apart from the visual upgrade, the enhanced version of GTA 5 also brings new vehicles from Hao’s Special Works such as the Pegassi Weaponized Ignus, Coil Cyclone II, Karin S95 and many more. Some of the existing vehicles in the game can be tuned up to new levels from Hao’s Special Works as well.

Also, GTA Online has received a new DLC titled Oscar Guzman Flies Again, which adds four new arms trafficking missions and introduces a new hangar at McKenzie Airfield. The DLC also adds a total of 20 slots for existing Hanger Storage alongside new aircrafts like the Titan 250 D, Buckingham DH-7 Iron Mule, and Western Duster 300-H.

Overall, GTA 5 just got a whole new lease of life from the visual uplift as well as the new DLC for it’s online component. Both additions to the decade old title might also be part of Rockstar’s plan to keep the PC Gaming community happy while they release GTA 6 on the consoles which might come to the PC as well at a later time as happened with GTA 5.
