God of War: 20th Anniversary Retrospective Currently available for Pre-Order at Amazon

To celebrate the iconic God of War series’ 20th Anniversary in ways that fit the incredible legacy of the franchise, Sony will release a huge 2 volume Box set titled God of War: 20th Anniversary Retrospective which is a collection of hardcover books featuring tons of artworks, behind-the-scenes materials, and exclusive developer interviews from each game’s development team.

The first part of the Box set is named Volume One: Greek Saga and features the original God of War Trilogy and all of it’s spin-off games while Volume Two: Norse Saga covers the development of God of War 2018 and God of War: Ragnarok. Both books are written by Rick Barba who is the author of God of War: Lore and Legends, a detailed recreation of Atreus’ in-game journal which was published by Dark Horse back in 2020.

The Retrospective Box set is priced at $100, however if you pre-order it from Amazon, you can save a few bucks. And although it’s slated to arrive on July 8, fans of the series can pre-order effective immediately, along with the Deluxe Edition of the set as well for a discounted price.

God of War: 20th Anniversary Retrospective Deluxe Edition packs a lot more additional contents and goodies and is aimed at the most hardcore of series enthusiasts. The Deluxe Edition includes gilded page edges, ribbed spines, alternate cover arts and other details from the God of War games that’s sure to delight most longtime fans of the series such as a two-piece slipcase with unique artworks, a bifold portfolio containing a pair of lithographs with printed artworks from both the PS2 era of games and from the rebooted version from 2018.

The Deluxe Edition costs twice the price of the standard Retrospective Edition which means it’ll be available for $200, but Amazon is offering a $20 discount on pre-orders, so if you want to buy one, better to book your copy right now.
