Dragon Age: The Veilguard Gets Unexpected New Weapons DLC

After months without any updates or patches, it was starting to seem that Bioware and EA have pretty much moved on from Dragon Age: The Veilguard, but the recent release of a surprising new weapons DLC for the 2024 action RPG is sure to prove otherwise. Bioware has put most of it’s developers who have worked for Dragon Age: The Veilguard into other projects at EA and many of them have also left the studio, with only a small team focused on fixing bugs in the game. But it’s still remarkable that they managed to surprise their fans with a new free DLC and though it isn’t really all that much, it’ll definitely add some amount of flair to the overall experience.

The new weapon DLC is currently available only for players of Dragon Age: The Veilguard on Steam and it’s currently unknown whether it will be released for the Playstation 5 and the Xbox Series X|S versions of the game.

Rise as Rook in Dragon Age™: The Veilguard. This offer includes Rook’s Weapon Appearance Set for all players who own the game on PC. This offer is available to players who purchase the game by April 9, 2025. The items will appear in Rook’s Room when you log into Dragon Age™: The Veilguard“, is the official description of the DLC on the game’s Steam page.

Players in the Dragon Age community have quickly worked out the contents offered in the free DLC which are several cosmetic sets of Watchful skins for the protagonist of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and these sets include:

  • Watchful Blade
  • Watchful Maul
  • Watchful Poniard
  • Watchful Bow
  • Watchful Shield

This seems to be the very last DLC content that we’ll ever see in the game as most of Bioware and EA have already moved on to the development for the next Mass Effect title, for better or for worse.
