AMD drops new tech demo for path tracing, and it’s terrible

AMD is trying to flex its hardware muscle once again. However, this flex was more like a flop, and there’s plenty of issues with the tech demo. From artifacting to ghosting, many graphical issues can be found that prove that the new hardware might not be as strong as the mean green one. One has to pose an interesting question however, is it worth it to purse this kind of unnecessary graphical advancements that only eat performance away? If I want realism, I go and watch a movie with real actors. Gameplay hasn’t evolved in any significant way for decades now, it decide to remain stagnant in lieu of graphical advancements. We at Infinite Start will discuss our takes.

AMDoes what Nvidian’t

AMD often provides a budget solution for those people who just want to play video games. Thanks to Nvidia, the gaming landscape on PC has become a sea of unoptimized slop, unless we speak about indie titles. Graphics aren’t everything that defines a game, and in fact, there hasn’t been any considerable advancements so far. Generational leaps between systems are dead, and we are fast approaching a plateau with them. This plateau is insurmountable, as you can see that the next pursuit will be that of “AI”, another useless thing to go for.

People just want to play good video games, but gameplay hasn’t changed nor did a new franchise arose from the sea that was truly new. In fact, a lot of old series have just shifted to appeal to the masses who never played any past title, such as Monster Hunter. Identities are being lost, and DNA is being wiped away in favor of graphical and gameplay homogenization. As people keep praising these changes, it sets up a way for “AI” slop to be able to become normalized. Games aren’t made for those who care about games anymore, they are made by corporate money driven people who want to chase trends.
