A Helldivers 2 update shuns away budget users, players worry

A Helldivers 2 update has destroyed the ability for low end users to play the game on PC. Being a game surrounded by controversy, Helldivers 2 once had to deal with Sony trying to enforce Playstation account requirements over PC users. Enraged, players pushed back against Sony, allowing them to play the game without any arbitrary restriction. It is important to know that the PSN account service isn’t available all across the world, so asking to enforce that would render some players unable to play. However, it does not matter, low end users are unable to play anymore thanks to a Helldivers 2 update. We at Infinite Start will cover what happened.

A Helldivers 2 update brings hell

This new update breaks compatibility with older models of CPUs, if you were playing Helldivers 2 on an AMD Bulldozer, then you were lucky it even worked. It is unfortunate that developers stop supporting older systems, since this ends up cutting down on a big chunk of the player base, sending the game on a slump in active users numbers. However, the norm of these gaming years is to just drop minimum viable products, because putting effort into optimization is expensive for the poor executives apparently.

If you are on an Intel 2600K, say goodbye to that little beast, or rather, build an old PC out of it and use it as a daily driver with some old Operating system. The headaches of today’s triple A gaming aren’t worth it, and plenty of money can be saved in quality indie titles that run in pretty much anything. If you are in for some quality, check out stores like itch.io and GOG, where many good old games await. There is no solution to the issue of Helldivers 2 not working, but is it really worth it to play a live service game anymore?
