Riot Games makes another blunder with LoL’s Mythic System

Seems like Riot Games makes another blunder with League of Legends. The new mythical systems has been regarded by many players as predatory garbage. League is a game known by many as the most toxic and addictive game to ever exist. However, instead of fixing those issues, Riot Games loves to capitalize on them. Players who are hooked to the game constantly are good for Riot’s numbers. We at Infinite Start will cover what happened with this blunder.

Hextech no more

Apparently, this is the “end” of the loot box era that League of Legends experienced for a very long time. In the past, it was possible to obtain a variety of skins through Hextech Chests. Between all rewards that could be acquired, there was Mythic Skins, highly rare and sought out by the community. Chests were cool cause you got keys for performing well at the game and getting mastery with your champions. And it was honestly rather hooking to many who wanted to hunt for cool skins and improve at the game.

However, Riot changed their mind right now. From now on, Mythic Skins can only be acquired by Gacha pulls. Yes, Gacha has finally been formalized in the League of Legends sphere, making the game experience even more toxic. The only way to get them now is through the Rotating Sanctum, which is just a glorified gacha banner that you see in millions of slop games. Each pull costs real money, 5 dollars a pop to be precise, this is truly an egregious amount for an item that does not even exist.

Live Service games have been a blight that tarnished the reputation of the industry in the eyes of many. Garnering the terrible moniker of being compared to a virtual casino nowadays. However, this is far from true, gaming is still alive in the hand of indie developers who care to make amazing experiences for players and by players.
