Developer Team Ninja has just released a new Patch for Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, which updates the game to version 1.0.7.0 while adding several new features such as New Game Plus, Photo mode along with tons of bug fixes and gameplay adjustments. The patch is currently live on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store.
This patch will no doubt add to Ninja Gainden 2 Black’s overall playability and make the gameplay experience even more polished in many ways while also keeping the difficulty intact, which is one of the most rewarding aspects of the game.
The New Game Plus was one of the most requested feature for Ninja Gaiden 2 Black and while the new patch does add it to the game, it does so in ways that do not make the gameplay any easier for the players. The difficulty which is often relentlessly hard and punishing in many ways, is one of the core characteristics of the series and the devs have made sure that it remains the same even with New Game Plus which enables the player to carry over their in-game progress when starting a new playthrough, making the game significantly easier, especially in harder difficulties.
But Ninja Gaiden 2 Black does New Game Plus with a twist–letting the players keep their progresses from their earlier playthrough but doesn’t let them jump into a higher difficulty while using this mode. So players will still need to go through the game in the usual and grueling ways in order to unlock the game’s harder difficulties, just like it was with the original version of Ninja Gaiden 2.
