Mega Man 11 sold 2 Million units making a proper comeback

The Mega Man series is beloved by many, spanning multiple stories through generations of games. Mega Man 11 sold 2 Million units after 6 years being out, this was helped by the fact that Capcom gave many discounts on Steam. Battle Network might be the most popular series for better or worse to some. However, it is surprising to see classic series coming forward. We at Infinite Start will document what happened with the franchise.

A return to form?

Many of us know that the Mega Man series is extremely neglected by the greedy Capcom. After a deluge of unnecessary and vibe killing remakes for Resident Evil. Along with the departure from classic Monster Hunter into a Damage per Second fest. Capcom has been clearly focused on milking their popular series in the most egregious ways possible. Resident Evil 4 has a micro transaction to make the game easier, being one of the first single player games to include pay for advantages.

Street Fighter 6 marks the first time in the series when micro transactions became so prevalent. Even when Mega Man 11 sold 2 million units, Capcom didn’t bat an eye over the beloved IP. This runs the risk of alienating the fan base even more with their neglect. After the insulting release of a paid version of their Mega Man gacha title, the company’s trust has dropped further. Not only the title is an insult towards the entire intellectual property itself, but its an insult to fans.

The reviled game isn’t even balanced to accommodate the fact that it isn’t a pay to win hell anymore. This grind fest piece of scraps is nothing but a pacifier to those who barely played games in the series. Despite the massive news that Mega Man 11 sold 2 million units, it seems that Capcom has no interest in reviving the IP.
