Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has Sold 1 Million Copies in just 24 Hours

The recently released Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has successfully hit a sales milestone with one million copies of the game sold just a day after launch. At this point, it certainly looks to be a sleeper hit of this year, with the game expected to reach a whole lot more players in the coming days.

On February 4, developer of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Warhorse Studios has announced that the game has sold one million units worldwide. “Over a million of you have stepped into our world,” the studio stated. “We’re beyond grateful for your support — thank you for making KCD2 a triumph!”

The sales numbers also include the pre-orders for the game as well, which were impressively high for past several weeks. Soon after release, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 soared pretty high on Steam too, with a total of 159,351 players which is a whole lot more than what it’s predecessor had managed to achieve (96,069 concurrent players) when it came out seven years ago. Of course this also indicates that those numbers have more room to grow in the upcoming weeks.

What’s equally impressive is that the game is also the highest selling title on Steam right now, well ahead of other major releases such as Civilization 7 and Counter-Strike 2.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a medieval Europe action RPG sequel which was released on February 4 for the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game was highly praised for it’s exceptional melee combat system and engrossing narrative along with some of the deeper gameplay elements that players just won’t find in most other titles in it’s genre.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 also marks the return of the famous Cryengine which is the engine powering the game. Once considered a monolith and a trailblazer in terms of visual realism and technical advancements, the mighty Cryengine is responsible for rendering the game’s meticulously detailed and lush Open World which looks organic and lifelike in every second of the game.
