A retro styled Roguelike is about to hit PC, He is Coming

He is Coming is coming soon to PC, what a weird sentence, but yes, He is Coming in 2025. This new indie title is a more conservative take on the Roguelike genre. It is true, Roguelikes, Roguelites and strategy games are very common in the indie space. After all, video games are pretty much expanded tabletop games when you think about it. At least, that’s what they used to be in the past, now we have gone even further with the medium. It is not bad to return back to the roots from time to time however. The game has a launch date for 2025, there is still no proper date given for it, but he might be coming closer each day. The trailer has some nice production values put into it, especially with that old speech synthesis narration in the background. It is clear that the game is going pretty hard on that retro feel and it looks pretty grounded in theme too. You are a champion, and your task is to try and slay an ancient evil that will come for you. The demon king seems to be the final hurdle you will have to take on, but for that you need to survive until he comes.

To do this, you will have to accrue enough power from slaying foul beasts, along with trying to get hold of precious relics. Synergies seem to be crucial to properly solve combats, and if you want to survive, you will need to discover them. It seems He is Coming is a game primarily designed for short play bursts, much to the like of others in the genre.
