Fortnite Leak: Mortal Kombat Mythics Next Season

Next season of Fortnite as Lawless leaked last week and would be introducing Mortal Kombat-themed Mythic weapons such as Scorpion’s Spear Hook and Sub-Zero’s Ice Gauntlets. These new weapons will appear to introduce a new set of combat mechanics into Fortnite, with Scorpion even making the character’s iconic “Get over here” catchphrase sound out when used.

The leak is from FNBRintel, which is one of the best Fortnite leak sources, and they claimed Mortal Kombat crossover would be one of the biggest Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 updates. Scorpion’s Spear Hook would most probably enable players to hook near enemies for quick kills, while Sub-Zero’s Ice Gauntlets may bring freezing mechanics to the game, introducing a new crowd-controlling factor into combat. These Mythics would need to deal a great amount of damage and provide an advantage in combat, similar to previous crossover guns.

Other than the Mythics, the leak states that Sub-Zero would be a title character for the Battle Pass, and Scorpion would be later released as a standalone skin. Given Fortnite’s history of crossover events, it should be safe to bet that new Mortal Kombat-themed POIs will also appear on the map. Past co-op events, such as Marvel, had featured theme POIs where players could grab super-powered crossover weapons. If Mortal Kombat followed suit, players would have the ability to battle over said Mythics at certain locations on the map, introducing more competition and strategy.

The Fortnite crowd has been splintered with the new changes, but all is still a massive build-up for the Mortal Kombat crossover. Coming up on the horizon is Season 2 of Chapter 6, and fans are all ready to see where these new Mythics will shake out in the constantly changing meta of the game. If word of mouth has it, then Fortnite players should be in store for a gore-filled, combat-heavy season complete with lots of bloody Mortal Kombat-styled brawling.
