Many speculate that Ubisoft is about to hit the sack permanently after many bad decisions they have made. After the glorious and epic fail of releasing an NFT games about Captain Laserhawk, a series that criticized them, and getting just $200 dollars, they might never recover. Ubisfot, trying to damage control, added achievements to Watch Dogs 2. We at Infinite Start will cover the surprising uptick on activity from such a greedy studio that wants to stay alive.
The original Watch Dogs is quite sloppy, and the characters are rather unlikable, however, it did push good numbers do to being open world. Companies often try to convince players that pushing for a certain genre should be perceived as something good. However, it is clear that by over-exploiting a genre, the only thing that a company will get is piles of slop after mountains of slop. Thankfully, Watch Dogs 2 tried to fix this by adding more interesting ideas to the mix.
Now you play as a crew of cyber criminals and the open world aspects of the game are expanded upon, recognizing the strength of the previous title. As always, with most Western developed titles about the idea of cyber crime and hacking, there is a lot of science fiction elements that really don’t mesh well with reality. Regardless, the title now has access to a full list of 55 achievements that can be checked in the official Steam Store page. PC players can rejoice with the fact that they now have an excuse to even play the game.
The sequel didn’t do as well as the original Watch Dogs, but it does have some interesting ideas that are quite ambitious but didn’t pan out that well. It is cool for titles to be ambitious, as long as they remain with the same DNA, however, it is not a common thing to see in today’s industry.
