Turbo Overkill Just Dropped on Consoles Without Warning

Fans of fast-paced shooters have received yet another shooter title, but as a surprise. The newly launched surprise release Turbo Overkill which is supposedly tagged as one of 2023’s best games, was dropped for a number of major modern consoles and for PC without warning. The cyberpunk shooter title is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.

A Sleeper Hit Goes Big

Developed by Trigger Happy Interactive and published by Apogee Entertainment, Turbo Overkill originally launched on PC in August 2023 after a year in early access. It quickly became a hit and earned a mighty rating on OpenCritic soon after, snagging an impressive average score of 91 and a reviewer recommendation rate of 93%. It even ranked 11th in the highest-rated game of the year, surpassing major titles like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

While Apogee had previously confirmed console ports were in development, no one expected them to just drop out of nowhere. Now, console players can finally experience the game’s quick movement, gunplay, and stylish world.

PC Version Gets a Boost

Alongside the console lunch, Apogee is running a special sale on Steam, knocking Turbo Overkill down to $13.58 (25% off) until February 12. And for those already playing on PC, a major update is coming on January 31 to enhance the game’s visuals, bringing them in line with the sharper console versions.

With Turbo Overkill already selling around 300,000 copies on PC, this surprise console release could push it even further into the mainstream.

Where to Get Turbo Overkill
PlayStation Store – $19.99
Xbox Store – $19.99
Nintendo eShop – $19.99
Steam – $13.58 (until Feb 12)

For those who love fast-paced but exciting shooters, now’s the perfect time to jump in. Turbo Overkill just made its console debut with no hype cycle, build-up, nor any other thing, just pure chaos waiting to be unleashed.
