The Official System Requirements for the upcoming PC version of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has been revealed by developer and publisher Squire Enix, featuring three default presets (Minimum, Recommended and Ultra )covering the full spectrum of visual details and performance that you can expect from the game.
And though the overall requirements are pretty much what we’d come to expect from the majority of new releases, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth PC needs a hefty 155 GB of storage space, which is a lot but perhaps shouldn’t be much of a surprise considering more and more AAA titles are now requiring upwards of 100 gigs of space, most of which is dedicated to the ultra-high-res textures that are used for bringing their stunning Worlds to Life.
Also, the game doesn’t support some of the older generation of graphics cards like NVIDIA’s GTX 10 series and AMD’s RX 5000 series of GPU’s. So if you’re using one of those models, you need to upgrade to at least an RTX 2060 from NVIDIA, RX 6600 from AMD or the Arc A580 from Intel in order to play the game. However, the memory requirements seem pretty reasonable with about 16 gigs across all three presets.
It’s worth noting that the official spec sheet doesn’t account for upscaling like DLSS or FSR which ought to wield higher performances when used with the cards listed here. Also looking at the requirements, if your GPU has at least 12 GB of VRAM, you can expect pretty reasonable performance out of the game, in the Recommended settings. And if you’re looking to max out the game at 4K, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth can get seriously demanding as the requirements clearly list both the RTX 4080 and 7900 XTX which belong in the Super-high end segment of Graphics Cards that you can get as of right now, not counting the upcoming RTX 5000 series of course.
Squire Enix has also mentioned at least 12 gigs of VRAM for anyone looking to run the game at 4K (even at the Recommended preset) which should be pretty obvious as most newer games run into performance problems when played at 4K with either 8 GB or 10 GB’s of VRAM.
