Red Dead Redemption 2 Has New Player Record on Steam

Even years from release, Red Dead Redemption 2 from Rockstar Games continues making waves. A new simultaneous Steam record with over 86,000 roaming its vast Wild West was reported by SteamDB on January 26, 2025.

The reason behind this resurgence is simple: a massive discount. Currently available for $14.99 with a 75% price cut, this recent sale on Steam has drawn many players in-the-promotion began on January 23 and will run until February 6, 2025, making the reigning title a hot item in entertainment history.

This hasn’t been the first time that a discounted sale has made peaks for the game; during the respective Steam sale in November 2023, Red Dead Redemption 2 peered at over 77,000- a previous concurrent-users record, and which just demonstrated how much of a difference the sales seasons can really impose even on a title that has aged over some years.

Released for the first time on PC in 2019, a year after the console version, Red Dead Redemption 2 was acclaimed for emotional storytelling, a vivid open world, and captivating gameplay.
