No Man’s Sky new update, aptly called Worlds Part 2, has finally released after the long wait. With it, tons of new content was added to the game, from trillions of new planets, to graphical improvements. Terrain generation was massively improved upon, now there’s way more variety with sizes, shapes and biomes. This update is yet another grand evolution of what was once a reviled game that failed to deliver. It is also proof that with constant free changes and proper communication, it is possible to earn your players back.

A lot of effort was put to also rework some graphical effects, now water feels more realistic with expanding lakes and seas. It is truly impressive to see how far No Man’s Sky went with development, starting as a small scale but over hyped project in 2016. A lot of criticism was taken by the folks at Hello Games to be able to improve upon it, all of the updates were also done for free. This shows that many companies trying to monetize every aspect of a game can end up causing the player base to fracture and die off.

It is always important to deliver a finished product, yet, with the convenience of updates, one can kinda see why it does not happen. However, that does not mean that the updates should be charged for. And Hello Games is a testament of a Studio that tried to undo their wrongs and finally fix things.
