Marvel Rivals Leak Hints at PvE Mode and Season 2 Surprises

Fans of Marvel Rivals may have more to look forward to than just the upcoming Season 1. A new leak suggests that a PvE mode could be in development for the popular hero shooter, expanding its gameplay options beyond the current PvP format.

The leak comes from RivalsLeaks, a prominent figure in the Marvel Rivals community, who claims to have received information from a source who tested the PvE mode during an earlier phase of the game’s development. The leaker also mentioned that fellow dataminer RivalsInfo discovered a tag in the game’s files hinting that the mode might still be in progress. However, they caution that the PvE mode could have been delayed or even scrapped entirely.

Since its launch, Marvel Rivals, developed by NetEase Games, has been steadily expanding its offerings. With Season 0 and the Winter Celebration event wrapping up, players are eagerly anticipating the launch of Season 1: Eternal Night Falls on January 10 at 1 AM PST.

The new season introduces Dracula as the main villain and brings The Fantastic Four to the game’s roster. Additionally, the Season 1 trailer teases a new map—a dark version of New York City—which could soon become available for players to explore.

Aside from the potential PvE mode, another leak suggests that NetEase is working on a Capture the Flag mode. If these rumors prove true, it’s clear the developers are aiming to diversify Marvel Rivals’ gameplay and attract a broader audience.

Alongside the PvE mode rumors, RivalsLeaks has also shared information about character additions. According to their post, Ultron, whose ability kit was leaked earlier, has been delayed to Season 2. The kit revealed Ultron to be a Strategist with drones that can heal or harm other characters, sparking excitement among fans.

While some players are disappointed by Ultron’s delay, others are optimistic about the potential release of Blade. Given that Season 1 features Dracula as the main villain, fans speculate that Blade—arguably one of the most iconic vampire hunters in the Marvel universe—may soon join the roster.

As Season 1 approaches, Marvel Rivals continues to grow, offering fans new characters, maps, and potentially groundbreaking modes like PvE. While the leaks remain unconfirmed, the hints of what’s to come have players buzzing with anticipation.

With an ambitious roadmap and fan-favorite characters like The Fantastic Four, Ultron, and potentially Blade on the horizon, Marvel Rivals seems poised to make 2025 a standout year for the hero shooter.
