Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’s success reportedly has made Disney ‘want more’ from the Franchise

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has been a surefire success both critically and commercially, and this has reportedly made Disney, the parent company holding the rights to the iconic character, want more games based on the IP in the future.

In a recent episode of the Xbox Two Podcast, Windows Central journalist and leaker Jez Corden has stated that he has “heard that Disney picked up the phone and wants more Indiana Jones”. The Podcast came out on December 22, just a few weeks after developer Machine Games’ first person Action-Adventure title’s release to critical and commercial acclaim.

Also, Douglas Reilly, Lucasfilm Games’ vice president and general manager, had opened up on more exciting adventures featuring the iconic tomb raider shortly, which definitely sounds exciting and welcome after the well-deserved success of the recently released game. While there’s no official news regarding any sequel in the works, Reilly had pointed out that there’s always possibility of telling more Indiana Jones stories and the franchise really allows for all that to happen, which is “super exciting”. At this point, gamers and fans alike will quickly agree to that statement.

“I think we’re always looking for great stories,” Reilly said. “And the good news is, there’s a lot of space in between the films where we could tell more and more Indiana Jones stories that I think would be super interesting.” As a standalone story, The Great Circle is set in between the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, so there’s sure to be other spaces that more games in the future could fill out. All of that definitely looks and sounds exciting for fans of the longstanding franchise.

And while official sales figures are yet to be released, Circana’s Mat Piscatella had recently revealed that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was the second best selling title in it’s first week in North America, behind only Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
