Recent rumors of a Halo 5: Guardians PC port have been debunked by Lenovo. A promotional image for the Lenovo Legion Go S sparked speculation by implying that Halo 5 might arrive on Steam. However, Lenovo’s senior community manager, Ben Green, clarified that the image was a mockup design and not an actual leak.
Despite the excitement surrounding the rumor, Halo 5: Guardians remains the only mainline Halo game not available on PC. While Halo: The Master Chief Collection brought most of the franchise to the platform, Halo 5 remains conspicuously absent. A PC version of the game’s Forge editor was released in 2016, giving fans a glimpse of what a PC experience could look like, but the full game has yet to follow.
When asked about the supposed leak, Green dismissed it with a simple “No lol,” further confirming that the promotional image was not indicative of any upcoming announcement. He also noted that the matter had been sent to Lenovo’s design team for review, underscoring that the image was not based on real plans.
For PC gamers hoping to complete the Halo saga, the lack of Halo 5 is disappointing. However, Microsoft’s increased focus on PC gaming in recent years has fueled speculation that the game could eventually join its counterparts on the platform. At present, though, there is no concrete evidence to support this possibility.
Meanwhile, the Halo franchise as a whole is navigating a transitional period. Halo Infinite continues to receive updates, but fans are already looking forward to what’s next. Rumors of a Combat Evolved remake and even a potential Master Chief Collection release on PlayStation have been circulating, though nothing has been confirmed.
For now, fans will have to wait and see if Halo 5 ever makes its way to PC or if Microsoft’s renewed commitment to the platform leads to any exciting surprises in the future.
