GTA 6’s Imminent Arrival Has Fans Considering an Exit from GTA Online

With each passing day, the date of release of Grand Theft Auto VI is drawing closer. For many players, this makes them think about moving on from GTA Online. The launch of what promises to be a new long awaited sequel leads many fans to believe that it is ending an era and ushering in a new one at Rockstar Games, leaving behind this platform with a decade-old online presence.

This feeling is echoed in the conversation on the GTA 6 subreddit, where an active user comments, “GTA 6 will [crash] the internet.” Certainly, it’s no surprise that the excitement is so high, but others are unsure of how effective the new game would be to GTA Online. Some of them have expressed doubt, cautioning others not to raise their hopes much as the end result may be dissapointment – just like with Black Ops 6.

GTA VI online is going to be much more interesting because it raises considerable questions on its release . The online mode of Grand Theft Auto V wasn’t live until a month after its launch in 2013. If that precedence is anything to go by then, this is what Rockstar would be doing: releasing parts of the online separately to give players a chance to enjoy a whole single-player system first.

GTA VI is expected to garner millions off GTA Online with or without online features at its launch. Epic world building, paired with a richer narrative, will create an experience very different from what players could expect from its predecessor. Yet, experts from the industry assert that it may take some time before the player community actually begins to reduce in the event of GTA Online having such a condition.

Yet more is added to the air of ambiguity because of fears of possible delays. Although Rockstar hasn’t made mention of change in the 2025 release schedule, fans are already fearing that the intricacy involved in launching such a large title would automatically cause a backtrack in the release date.

One way or another, GTA VI is going to make waves in the gaming world. As publishers continue to move cautiously, demand from the half-baked gamer will prove it otherwise.
