Code Violet won’t get a PC port due to modding concerns

Code Violet won’t get a PC port according to TeamKill Media, the developers behind the game. The aforementioned studio fears that their work might be tarnished by what they consider to be undesirable mods. This surprising development has to be one of the first times in the history of gaming. We at Infinite Start will cover this with proper detail.

Lascivious creations

According to their personal statement on Twitter, TeamKill Media won’t be doing any work on porting the game to PC.

“We hold our voice actresses and actors with high regard, as well as our artistic vision for the game and story and reject any form of destroying that with sexual mods. Making a joke out of our art and possibly tarnishing the reputation of our voice actresses and actors is not worth the extra money we can make.” – TeamKill Media

This is the first time a game won’t get a PC port due to these reasons, and it is indeed an interesting development in the medium. It is possible to empathize with the team behind the game, however, people oftentimes do not tend to do so. The modding world is diverse in range, and it is rather impossible to actually stop such kinds of projects.

While we do not advocate for any personal side, it is understandable why we won’t get a PC port of the game. With freedom comes consequences and in this case, the consequence was not being able to enjoy Code Violet. It has always been common that companies would warn the modding community about doing such thing.

It is important to note that TeamKill Media itself isn’t against the concept of modding, but against the concept of sexual related mods. And that’s a boundary that should try to be respected for them. It is good to see that the issue isn’t against modding as a whole, because that would have carried more serious implications.

In case the game wouldn’t have released due to concerns about the whole modding community, that would have been a disaster. It is important to also respect the freedom to own and modify the things you buy, since you should be owning them.
