Ohsnap! revealed MCON, a MagSafe based gaming controller.
The controller features a slide out design, similar to older devices like Xperia Play. However, unlike those devices, MCON boasts “full-sized” Hall Effect joysticks with “tactile buttons.” It also connects via Bluetooth, so there are no concerns about wires, or other accessories.
Another surprising feature are ergonomic fold-out handles. In theory this will allow players to enjoy the benefits of handles, without having to sacrifice space to accommodate them. Best of all, if they’re not comfortable to use they can simply be left in the device.
Pricing and other details were not revealed, though Ohsnap! confirmed MCON will hit Kickstarter on Jan. 2. It will also be shown at CES 2025, which starts shortly after on Jan. 7.
Update: Ohsnap! launched a page to remind those interested of when the Kickstarter campaign goes live.
