Fans Suggest a New GTA 6 Update as Rockstar Updates Placeholder Images

GTA 6 won the award of the most anticipated game in the Game Awards for 2024, and shattering several records even before its trailer. But of recent, GTA fans noted that the former Placeholder images on the Rockstar official website was changed due to a series of codes. Fans suggest it may signify the coming of a new update or trailer before the year’s end to ease the impatience of the gaming community. Others suggest there may be no updates till 2025, while a few others suggest there’s not going to be any update till close to the release of GTA 6.

Since the reveal of GTA 6, GTA fans have got their eyes and ears in every nook and cranny searching for leaks, rumors, and updates from Rockstar Games and other well-known leakers. But instead, they were faced with Rockstar Games shutting the door on any new updates about the game’s development. However, even if Rockstar shut the door on updates, leakers are always there to provide the needed information. Or so fans thought, only to find that the developers were being meticulous about information on the game getting leaked.

Over time, fans realized the only way to get new updates about their much anticipated GTA 6 was to wait patiently on Rockstar Games to announce what they feel is worth sharing with them. However, ever since the game’s trailer went live, there has been no other updates whatsoever from Rockstar Games, leaving fans sad and much more impatient. That said, many fans were happy to here about the change in placeholder images in the Rockstar website, but that seems too far fetched as this isn’t the first time Rockstar has updated those images, but it has been done from time to time.

The change in placeholder images on the Rockstar website was spotted by a prominent GTA 6 leaker on X with the handle @GTASixJoker.

In the code from the leaker that supposedly changed the placeholders, fans identified a GTA 6 video which had the maximum age of the cache control set to 21293 secs – approximately 6 hours. This led to another rumor among fans explaining that a GTA 6 trailer may be coming after that time frame or simply before the year’s end. However, there was clearly a misinterpretation of the situation as cache control isn’t related to scheduling a video, as the value only dictates the time frame in which browsers can store resources before having to fetch them again from the server.

That said, the fact that updates about the much anticipated GTA 6 hasn’t been dropped yet, may simply be a tactic from Rockstar Games to keep the game’s content fresh and new to fans wvn after its release so fans won’t have any idea about what’s coming.
