In a major update during Gamescom, Microsoft has confirmed the release dates for three new Xbox Series X|S models. The highly anticipated digital-only Xbox Series X, along with two other variants, will be available starting October 15, 2024. Selected regions will receive the consoles later, on October 29.
The new lineup includes a Robot White 1TB digital-only Xbox Series X, priced at $449.99, and a Galaxy Black 2TB Xbox Series X with a disc drive, available for $599.99. Additionally, a Robot White 1TB Xbox Series S will be released for $349.99.
Microsoft described the new Galaxy Black Xbox Series X as offering “the fastest, most powerful Xbox ever,” with a 2TB SSD and support for 4K gaming at up to 120 FPS. The digital-only variant, in contrast, promises a streamlined experience without a disc tray, but still delivers the same high-performance gaming with advanced features like DirectX ray tracing.
The new hardware is expected to strengthen Xbox’s presence in the console market, expanding the current lineup with more options for both casual and hardcore gamers. The release comes amidst growing interest in all-digital gaming platforms, reflecting a shift in how players access and enjoy their games.
