Hangar 13 and 2K Games will soon add Mafia: Definitive Edition to Xbox Game Pass. Reliable insider Nate Drake shared the news on ResetEra. He did not specify if the game would be available in the first or second wave of August releases.
Mafia: Definitive Edition is a full remake of the original 2002 game. The story follows Tommy Angelo, a cab driver turned gangster in 1930s Lost Heaven. The game, released in 2020, features improved mission dynamics and the addition of motorcycles, based on Mafia III gameplay mechanics.
Mafia: Definitive Edition was previously offered as a PS Plus Essential title in March 2024. It is unknown if Mafia II: Definitive Edition and Mafia III will also join Game Pass. Adding the complete trilogy would provide a richer experience for new players.
Speculations arise that this Game Pass inclusion hints at a possible Mafia 4 announcement. Although no official statement from 2K or Hangar 13 has been made, fans remain hopeful for new developments.
