Dead by Daylight PC DLC Prices Raised

Behaviour Interactive has announced an increase in the price of Dead by Daylight DLC on PC. Starting July 22, 2024, the price for individual Chapter DLC will rise from $6.99 to $7.99. This adjustment aims to align with console DLC prices, supporting cross-progression.

The decision has sparked debate among players. While some understand the need for consistent pricing across platforms, others question why console prices weren’t lowered instead. This price change affects several DLCs, including All Things Wicked, Sadako Rising, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, Saw, Silent Hill, and Dungeons & Dragons.

PC players can still buy these DLCs at the current price until the price hike on July 22. Additionally, players who purchase the DLC on PC can transfer it to their console via cross-progression, potentially benefiting console players as well.

Behaviour Interactive explains that cross-progression requires consistent pricing to function correctly. This feature will allow progress, currencies, and purchased DLCs to sync across platforms, except for Nintendo Switch, where some restrictions apply.

While the price increase may not be popular, it coincides with significant updates to Dead by Daylight, including new features, a redesigned store, and an upgrade to Unreal Engine 5. Players are encouraged to take advantage of the current prices before the change takes effect.
