Concord Launches Without a Battle Pass for a Complete “Day One Experience”

PlayStation’s new FPS game, Concord, won’t include a battle pass. Firewalk Studios, the game’s developer, wants players to have a full and rewarding experience from the start.

In a tweet, Firewalk Studios explained its decision. “Concord does not have a battle pass,” the studio said. “We wanted to focus our attention on making Concord a rewarding and robust experience on day one, where just playing the game, leveling up your accounts and characters, and completing jobs yields meaningful rewards.”

Firewalk Studios promises post-release content, including new Freegunners, maps, and modes. This content will be free for all players. “We’ll be diving deeper into our post-launch roadmap very soon – stay tuned,” the studio said.

Concord will launch on August 23 for PS5 and PC. The game had a closed beta that ended on July 14 and an open beta that finished last weekend.

Unlike many online shooters, Concord will cost $40, with no extra cost for essential post-launch content. This approach is unusual in an industry where paid battle passes are common. The team may introduce paid cosmetics over time, but these will not affect gameplay.
