Destiny 2: The Final Shape added a number of exciting weapons, but few can match the interest associated with Ergo Sum. The exotic sword used a familiar model, though next to nothing was revealed about it. Now that players have unlocked it we wanted to explain how, and why it’s worth chasing after.
Before unlocking Ergo Sum players need to complete Destiny 2: The Final Shape’s campaign. After this two missions will unlock that give new items for Prismatic, which is required to finish the Destined Heroes quest. After this Ergo Sum will be unlocked with a random roll.
Ergo Sum is the one and only sword in Destiny 2 under the energy weapon slot. If that isn’t enough, it also has random rolls that change its perks, including the exotic, energy type, and weapon frame.
Every exotic perk is pulled from a notable Destiny 2 exotic, which gives Ergo Sum a unique feel. The perk also determines what type of energy Ergo Sum is. While the best option is not currently known, Gjallarhorn’s Wolfpack rounds seem to be a standout choice.
Once Ergo Sum is unlocked there are two ways to get additional rolls.
The first is by finishing Pathfinder’s in The Pale Heart. Players can earn a total of two of these a week through this method. The other is through Overthrow completions in the current daily target zone.
There are two ways to tell the daily target zone. The first is by simply looking at the node, and the other is a special matchmaking version of the area.
