Rockstar Games is set to bring Red Dead Redemption and its expansion, Undead Nightmare, to PC. Reliable sources, including the well-known insider Tez2, spotted updates in Rockstar’s PC launcher that hint at the imminent release.
Tez2 shared a screenshot from the launcher’s backend showing promotional texts that suggest both games will soon be playable on PC. The text reads, “Journey across the sprawling expanses of the American West and Mexico in Red Dead Redemption, and its zombie-horror companion, Undead Nightmare.” These games have been long awaited by the PC gaming community since their original release on Xbox 360 and PS3 back in 2010.
While the official announcement from Rockstar Games is still pending, the update on their website on May 13 adds to the anticipation.
This leak has sparked excitement among fans, especially since the game has been confined to older console generations and recent console re-releases without any major upgrades. The possibility of enjoying the game with potential mods and improved frame rates on PC has heightened the community’s excitement.
Rockstar has not confirmed if the game will also be available on platforms like Steam at launch, considering past delays with other releases. However, this upcoming PC port marks a significant expansion in Red Dead Redemption‘s accessibility, much to the delight of its fans. Stay tuned for an official announcement, which could be revealed around Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive’s earnings report this Thursday.
