Polyarc Officially Announces Glassbreakers: Champions of Moss; Early Access Now Available

Polyarc officially announced their new live-service multiplayer VR experience, Glassbreakers: Champions of Moss. It was shown as part of their Glassbreakers showcase, which gave players an idea of what to expect and how to enjoy early access.

CEO and Polyarc Co-Founder, Tam Armstrong, added the following insight about the move.

More than seven years ago, as we were captivated by the possibilities of virtual reality and envisioning the types of games we’d want to play and share with our friends, the concept of Glassbreakers was bornCreating compelling worlds with memorable characters to connect with is core to what we do, and Glassbreakers gave our team the opportunity to combine all of that with their passion for competitive gaming. We cannot wait to grow this game with our players, and it’s our hope that they’ll form connections not only with their favorite Champions, but with others in our Glassbreakers community as well.

Press release

Glassbreakers: Champions of Moss is described as an experience where players select three champions from the world of Moss. Each champion has their own unique abilities, which can either complement allies or counter opposing forces. For this reason choices will not be revealed until the match begins. Not only will this potentially give one side an edge, it allows every match to be a bit different as you try to anticipate what your opponent will do.

Polyarc Design Director, Chris Bourassa, gave their thoughts on what to expect from Glassbreakers: Champions of Moss.

“Because this is VR, we literally place the opposing player across from you which brings a deep sense of immersion and competitive spirit to Glassbreakers that you can’t experience in other games. When you play Glassbreakers, there’s an added level of strategic gameplay that needs to be considered as you can see in real-time where your opponent is looking, what Champions they’re grabbing, and where they are moving them. It really brings real-time gaming to another level.”

Press release

Those interested in experiencing Glassbreakers: Champions of Moss can currently download the early access version on Meta Quest 2. This will start today and run until Sept. 4. Players who participate will be rewarded with skin dye tokens, unique player masks, banners, and crests. Polyarc notes that the experience will continue to expand, with new characters and content coming via seasons following release.
