Prior to this battle you see Zhang Bao a couple times in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. The mysterious wizard looks like he could pose a serious threat, and depending on your tactic, he can be. With a lot of skills to look out for, mechanics to deal with, and additional enemies, this can be a really easy fight, or a quick death depending on how you go about it. If you’re having issues, or just want to know what needs to be done, this guide will help you out.
For this fight you really shouldn’t need too much. Getting to morale 25 is helpful, but building around fire damage is better. Likewise, dealing water damage helps a lot, if you’re pushing for magic, though not needed to win.
Regardless of what you do, make sure you defeat the two Changgui near the boss. They have an item that boosts Dragon’s Cure Pot efficiency.
This is another one phase fight, though don’t let that fool you into thinking it’s easy. Zhang Bao will use various flame attacks that require specific inputs to avoid. These include jump (circle attack pictured below), avoid (chasing fireballs), or keep your distance (basically everything else).
While it helps to punish his critical attack, he doesn’t do it very often. Instead, you’ll want to keep damaging him as you avoid his various attacks. Your helpers should make things a lot easier, as he will often be distracted by one of them. Keep this up until you see him summon Warlocks.
There will be three that appear in a triangle formation. Make sure to kill these as soon as possible to limit his power, and potential obstacles. Once they’re dead, return to Zhang Bao to finish him off.
