Stadia Controller to Get Self-Serve Tool to Enable Bluetooth Connections

Late last year Google announced they were discounting their cloud gaming service, Stadia. The news didn’t come as much of a surprise, though many players were hopeful this would result in Google giving the controller second life with Bluetooth support.

In a surprise tweet just days before the service officially comes to an end, Google confirmed there will be a “self-serve tool” that will enable Bluetooth connections on the controller.

At this time no further information was released, with all official responses telling players details regarding platforms, open source status, and more will be addressed sometime next week.

While it will be interesting to see what they do, it’s great to see Google remain committed to their comments on sustainability, and allow the controller to have some function after Stadia officially ends on Jan. 18.
