Quinton Flynn, best known as being the voice of Raiden from Metal Gear Solid, replied to a fans tweet suggesting Metal Gear Solid announcements over the coming weeks.
The comment was made as part of a chain that eventually touched on the recent rumors of a Metal Gear Solid remake supposedly releasing in the first half of 2023. At this point Flynn offered the comment, suggesting several Metal Gear Solid things are set to be announced.
This might be in the form of a State of Play, which Sony typically does in Feb., or it could be as part of a separate event like Silent Hill got last year.
One interesting thing about Flynn’s message has to do with Raiden himself. The character first appeared in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, so his involvement in a potential Metal Gear Solid remake is not guaranteed. It could mean the story was changed in some way to include him, or there are multiple other announcements, such as something related to Metal Gear Rising‘s 10th anniversary, that he is involved with and in turn would be related to other things. It’s also entirely possible there is nothing to read into, and the comment is being taken the wrong way.
Whatever the answer might be, make sure to stay tuned for more information as it arises.
