It lives! Ubisoft has finally given us a lengthy look at the long-delayed seafaring experience, Skull and Bones. More importantly, we now know that the Sea of Thieves competitor will take to the high seas before 2022 closes out.
In a pre-Ubisoft Forward showing, we were given an overview of the various systems and mechanics embedded in this anticipated title, which dives into the Golden Age of Piracy. Explosive ship combat, deep customization, and the progression structure encasing it all were highlighted in the presentation.
Budding pirates will begin their journey with little to nothing, washed ashore after a shipwreck, and must build themselves up into a terrifying sight for those sailing the Indian Ocean. There are hubs, called Dens, where crafting and contracts reside, as well as social interactions with other players. Your virtual pirate can sail away solo, enjoying all content alone, or they can team up with other nautical miscreants to tackle the loads of content together.
Whatever your chosen playstyle, Skull and Bones is ready to accommodate. The pirate fantasy simulator will launch on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 8th.
